MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
Monday, August 20th, 2012 @ 6:30 pm
Raymond Library, 840 Main St. E. Hartford, CT 06108
PRESENT: Debra Arrieta, Florence Schroeter, Lisa McMahon, Rose Tavtigian, Anthony Foran, Gloria Visgilio-Lupi, Pat Jones, Librarian, and Charles Casella
ABSENCES: None
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the July 16th, 2012 meeting were approved.
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
- Staff is creating a new website which will be functional in September.
- Library temporary relocation
- Approximately 5% of the collection will be moved to the community Cultural Center, the remainder will be put in storage.
- Will be open six days with full library hours
- Children Collection expanded
- Adult Collection downsized but current
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
The Chairman reported that Esther Clarke and Valerie Scheer have resigned.
OLD BUSINESS
Mary Martin, Project Administrator for the Raymond Library Addition Project updated the Library Commission on the following:
- Progress being made
- Challenges remain
- Rotary Club working with Freight Liner and Town
- On schedule
- Challenges remain
